The Austin Music Video Festival (AMVFest) announces the upcoming release of our virtual reality mobile app, powered by Thrillbox, launching on iPhone and Android app stores next week. This app showcases the official 2017 VR/360 selections of the festival locally at our “Videoactive Lounge” Saturday, September 16th at Empire Control Room and simultaneously worldwide in the pockets of millions of people. Staying on the cutting edge, the festival sought to highlight this new medium of music videos and partnered with some of Austin’s brightest minds in the VR space to do so. Beyond production and distribution, Thrillbox is a behavioral analytics platform for virtual reality, augmented reality and 360 videos. They analyze what objects users are engaged with and for how long, allowing you to identify, retarget and monetize the most effective methods of reaching your audience in VR.
They have worked on projects with Fortune 100 companies, interstellar entities and rockstars alike. Backing their creative contribution, Thrillbox also presents the “Best Interactive Award” to the most outstandingly immersive and undeniably engrossing music video experience of the festival. Last years’ interactive content included work from Arcade Fire, Run the Jewels, The Weeknd, Eminem, Santigold and more top-level international artists alongside independent filmmakers, musicians and creators. It’s only just begun with Thrillbox, though. AMVFest’s Videoactive Lounge will be exhibiting some of Austin’s latest VR + music applications including the catalog of virtual live performances from OnlyinVR, To The Top a music-fueled, leaping, climbing and free-flying video game experience and Hybrid VR and Moontower VFX’s made-for-AMVF mixed reality happening.
The simulation places you as a giant amidst the Austin city skyline, backed by a grooving CAPYAC track, and gives you control to manipulate the music, add sounds see the visual reactions as you play the city buildings like a marimba. It’s one-of-a-kind and you can see it first at Austin Music Video Festival. Finally, the Videoactive Lounge will include a panel with members of the exhibiting companies discussing VR, it’s creative potential in the music video space, it’s monetization possibilities and how future artists and labels might react to this new model.
The panel will begin promptly at 1:00pm CST after an hour of open house. The exhibit is free for the first hour from 12:00pm CST to 1:00pm CST with an Eventbrite RSVP, the Videoactive Lounge will run all day Saturday, September 16th, 12:00pm CST to 6:00pm CST at Empire Control Room The full screening and events schedule can be found at http://amvfest.com/schedule ####### Videoactive Lounge info:
