Lenovo has announced that it is collaborating with Disney on a new AR headset.
The headset will be released in conjunction with the upcoming AR experience Star Wars: Jedi Challenges.
The product puts fans of the all-conquering space opera the opportunity to relive some of their favourite moments from the films from an entirely new perspective.
Aside from the fact that the project exists, nothing else is known about the new headset, including whether it will be compatible for other VR or AR experiences.
You can see a trailer for the Jedi experience, which looks set to feature a lightsabre, here.
Disney makes a VR move
Disney has also announced that it is making a move into the VR gaming market with a multiplayer action game on Oculus.
MARVEL Powers United VR is a first-person adventure that allows groups of players to ‘engage in immersive, explosive cooperative fights from across the Marvel Universe’.
You can see a video of the first-look of how the gameplay will look here.
“It’s our mission to bring the magic of Disney into the daily lives of families and fans around the world and, when it comes to games, we’re working with the best developers in the world to create experiences that put fans at the center of the story,” Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media chairman, Jimmy Pitaro, said.
“Gamers and fans of our stories have never had more to look more to look forward to – and our slate has never been stronger.”
