On 21st of June the NextVR, with Live-Nation and Citi, will live-stream the concert of American rock group Third Eye Blind in VR for the first time. The band’s performance will take place at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion, in Boston, USA. Through new technology, fans of the band will be able to enjoy the concert at home, fully being immersed in the show.
Fans will have a lucky chance to walk virtually with artists on the stage. They will also be accessed to check out the process behind the stage in VR, through the “Backstage with Citi”, as the program named. The project supports Gear VR and Daydream eyewears. Gear VR consumers will need to download the app from the Oculus Store, and Daydream consumers from Google’s Play Store.
Besides Third Eye Blind’s concert, the three firms broadcast 3 other groups’ shows in VR. The first one is the concert of renowned rock band Imagine Dragons, which has already taken place on 15th of June in the Theater of Belasco, L.A. The Dragons’ performance opened with “Thunder”.
The rest of the concerts will take place during following weeks. On 24th of June will be held the show of the country music band Lady Antebellum, in Bristow-based amphitheater Jiffy Lube Live, USA. The next one is Prince Royce’s concert, that is scheduled to take place in 2nd of July in Dallas’ Music Park.
