Immersive content coming to podcast platform

PodcastOne has announced that it will be launching a new mobile app that will allow fans to access special VR events.

The advertiser-supported podcast network, which boasts over 200 shows and 1.5 billion downloads a year, has partnered with MANDT VR to bring a loyalty program rewards that rewards users with virtual currency.

This virtual currency can then be used to access discounts and premium, such as special events in VR.  

“The launch of our new PodcastOne mobile app is a milestone for our company, as we are providing a host of features for our listeners to choose from to enhance their listening experience that no other network provides,” PodcastOne founder and executive chairman Norman Pattiz said.

“Now, with our partners at MANDT VR, we can offer a truly immersive experience that allows the listener to sit in the recording studio, right across the table from the host.”

Premium experiences

The company has equipped the PodcastOne studio with the kit it needs to begin recording podcast episodes in new, immersive formats. There are also mobile recording units that can produce content in remote settings.

So far, the team has produced over 1,000 pieces of short-form content relating to PodcastOne’s show library, and new pieces are promised weekly.
