MLB is partnering with Intel to include baseball matches with VR in Live. Fans can follow the league games completely for free after getting Intel True VR app from Oculus online Store.
The sports events will be delivered in VR on weekly basis. Those who do not want to miss the chance of watching baseball in VR should possess Gear VR helmet. Meanwhile, Intel is going to make the league available for other VR helmet as well.
David Aufhauser, who works at Intel Sports Group stated in his speech on Intel’s official press release that from VR aspect Intel completely changes the fans interaction and the requirement for content. Aufhauser shared his excitement working with the league and emphasized that the good point of baseball is that it delivers both information and video simultaneously.
The term for this collaboration is established for three years and no more information about the deal is revealed. Weekly games will be shoot via Intel’s 4K-resolution cameras supplying people absorbed in it up to four camera edges for each game in real time.
Intel has already provided the upcoming matches timetable on their website which will be allowed to watch in June 2017.
