2D and 3D pornography are both now completely banned in Mainland China. The only way to view 3D VR porn in China would be “illegally” bypassing China’s internet firewall dubbed “Great Wall” and using private VPN. However, might be risking serious China law offense…

According to Xinhua, this week alone, more than 30 VR porn online distributors and site owners have been arrested. These online distributors and site owners were said to have been offering free VR adult content, buyers can view these pre-loaded or streamed content with their VR headset purchase. The adult content are likely to be downloaded and ripped illegally from American and European 3D immersive adult content membership service such as Naughty America, BadoinkVR, Virtual Real Porn and etc…

Apparently, these online sellers were making a profit with this illegal business model and got noticed by China officials who conducted the cracked down.

According to Xinhua News, China’s National Office Against Pornography and Illegal Publications even published an official statement this week and stated that “Major ecommerce platforms had been working closely with China officials to perform the investigation, monitoring of online VR porn-related search and search terms on Chinese search engine such as Baidu, to identify and report the violators back to the official.” Looks like China is taking a firm stance on all pornography related distribution and consumption.
